Perennial: Thesis Film

This page collects the work associated with my thesis film, Perennial. On this page you will find a variety of models, concepts, and texture/shading works that begin to represent the look of my film.

A plush whale from my graduate thesis film, "Perennial". Concept, textures, retopology, uv layout, and shaders were compiled by me in Zbrush, Maya, and Photoshop.

Gaspar is one of the lead characters in my animated thesis film, "Perennial". I was responsible for all aspects besides the design and rig. Modeled in Maya 2013 and textured in Zbrush and Photoshop.

Odo is a whale like creature that takes Gaspar from the land of the living to the world beyond in my thesis film, "Perennial". I was responsible for all aspects of the character except for the rigging. Modeled in Maya 2013 and textured in Zbrush and Adobe Photoshop.

These are the grey scale models of the characters from the film. All characters are modeled and textured by me, though the design credit for Aviram and Gaspar, the two human characters, goes to http://www.ejscreations.com/index.php.

Here is a collection of various texture work I've done for the film. As the film has two varying aesthetics, one for the dream world and one for the real world, there needs to be two types of texture sets for some of the characters. The real world is more painterly, utilizing flat shaders with water color brushes to create a story book-like look. The dream world will be rendered in more atypical shading and lighting techniques, featuring sub surface scattering and photo real lighting.
